The name of this blog is from a haiku by Matsuo Basho: “The moon and sun are eternal travellers. Even the years wander on. A lifetime adrift in a boat, or in old age leading a tired horse into the years, every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.”

Its apt for a blog describing the upcoming tour with Björk around the world.

I found the haiku in a thriller I’m currently reading, Death Match by Lincoln Child. Never mind what it is about, nothing relaxes me like a good thriller. And after our first concert together in Laugardalshöllin last Monday, I really need to relax.

I am a classical pianist and this was the very time first time I play in a rock concert. Nothing could have prepared me for the mad reaction of the public. I guess the concert went well - people were screaming and security guards had to keep the front line in check.

I am not complaining! I am just not used to this. In my world, concert goers applaud politely. If they really like what you are doing, they give you a standing ovation. The craze Björk’s music seems to evoke took me completely by surprise.

I went home right afterwards. Lay in my sofa and stared at the wall for two hours. I felt like I had just lost my virginity. And this time it was for real!
