The past few days have been interesting. The day after the show at the Apollo Theatre a few of us went sailing on the East River. It was a glorius day, very hot and we had a sumptous (and very inventive) meal on the boat, cooked by Númi Tómasson, the wonder chef.

Yesterday I went for a helicopter ride for the first time in my life. It was kind of scary. I nearly panicked when it took off - just rising up from the ground like that is so very unnatural - but then I was OK.

Same applies to my first night in a sleeping coach, which was tonight. The bunk I will spend considerable time in for the next couple of weeks is quite small, smaller than I had imagined. When I went to sleep I got really claustrophobic, I felt I was in a coffin and I couldn’t breathe. I thought: “I can’t do this… I want to go back Iceland. NOW!!!” But then I got over it and began to find the rocking motion of the bus strangely soothing. I soon fell asleep, and though I did wake up a few times during the night I managed to sleep eight hours nonetheless.

We are now in Cleveland, but tonight we go back on the bus and will continue our journey to Chicago.

Glad to hear that you’re enjoying your travels.

I think Björk might be interested to read my blog if she has a chance:

I really appreciate all of your hard work, and your confrontation with your fears, to make life EXTREMELY enjoyable.

I was introduced to Bjork through Mike Patton being on the medulla, before then i only knew her name, possibly from the swan dress… : )

Coachella 2007, just a couple of weeks ago, was the first time I saw Bjork, And I must say, all of you brought tears to my eyes, I was in such a blissful state, it was so beautiful…

I want to say thanks, and ill see all of you again at Shoreline. Take care!

Jonas, you seem such a nice guy. I’d love it if i could some day speak to you about music. Some day.

One of my most serious and haunting ambitions is to do what you do just now, which is to play for Bjork. I adore her so much, and will even settle to be a prop man, moving Pianos from places to places and do all the dirty work, just to be near this magical woman and be constantly inspired by her.

I will leave everything here just to be your Understudy. :) Everything. Job, Family, Friends, i will leave anything behind just in order to fulfill this dream.

I hope it will come true someday. If not now, then in the future.

Anyhow, it’s a pleasure to read your so incredibly friendly blogs.

How did Bjork get to you?

    With so much apprecation!

The lullaby is hilarious! Our jolly tour manager, Shaun Martin, printed it out and brought it to us as we were discussing some songs at the soundcheck in Chicago today. I hadn’t seen it. Björk actually sang it to me…

The lullaby is excellent. Nice work. On another note, I was lucky enough to have a brilliant seat at the Chicago show–front row and nearly dead center. I was in some sort of weird exhilation and was attempting to focus on everything…Bjork herself, Chris, Mark, the girls, and you on the piano—brilliant in the end. There was one point where I think (this could be a fluke) you looked over, so I tried to get you to smile. I realized after leaving the theater that my gesture was borderline creepy, but I just wanted to see you smile :). So..apologies from the little blondie in front.

I hope you enjoyed the show as much as those of us in the audience. It was very special. Glad to hear the bus is growing on you a little bit and hopefully your basinet keeps you in it through the night. I’m attempting to make it to either Bilbao or Sevilla—so maybe I’ll see you again–minus the smile gesture.

    Enjoy and Thank you!
