Religious fervour once gripped Guatemala City when, after a rainstorm, the face of Jesus Christ (or what he is believed to have looked like) appeared on the wall of a church; prayers were offered and miraculous cures were reported. More rain made the face clearer until it was recognised to be that of country and western singer Willie Nelson. His picture had been stuck to the wall and the painters who redecorated the church wall had simply painted over it ¦
Willie Nelson is one of several distinguished musicians who have given concerts in Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where we performed last night. On one of the walls back stage, there is a list of all those who have been there; I even saw the name of Stravinsky himself.
I must say that our concert yesterday was one of our very best. Due to a technical problem the piano didn’t work in the first song (Earth Intruders), but after that everything was just splendid. The venue, which is made of natural rock formations, is simply amazing, and we had a fantastic audience which screamed through the entire show.
I didn’t hear all of our supporting band, Joanna Newsom and a group of instrumentalists, but what I did hear sounded really interesting. I must get one of her CDs! She is obviously extrremely talented.
After the concert we were in such high spirits, both us and Joanna Newsom’s band, that we danced wildly for hours.
And now it seems we are about to arrive in Salt Lake City ” I’m writing this on the bus. We will stop here for a day but will continue our journey towards San Francisco tonight.

Thank you so much for an amazing show! My friends and I had a fantastic time, even better than the last time I saw Bjork at Redrocks. Magical indeed.

I have to agree with the other person, last night’s show was even better than the Vespertine tour (which seems impossible). Full on electronic again!!! It was amazing. Army of Me was the best version I’ve ever heard and I couldn’t believe she played 5 years and Pluto! One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

So many things to say…..
First off thank you for such an awesome performance from everyone! The flight from Texas was very well worth it. My soar body thanks Bjork so much for her wonderful music. I haven’t danced for hours on end for years and this was a much needed stress reliever!
Thank you for “I Miss You” and “5 Years.” LOVED THEM!!!! I’m glad you guys decided to play this version of “I Miss You.”
I’m from Guatemala and I took my Guatemalan flag which I raised for “Declare Independence.” I wanted to give it to you guys, but it’s hard to do that from the 7th row. Perhaps I’ll give you guys my flag when I see you again in Austin, TX. Look for blue/white/blue! You’re going to love Austin!!!!

Excellent show last night. We in Colorado thank you all for such a memorable show. Thanks for the blog, it’s really fun and interesting. I was in Row 7 stage right area. I totally watched you take a pic during DI! How cool is that?!

Thank you so much for the show. This is my third concert, but it’s the first time I’ve gotten to see one of my all-time favorites like Bjork perform, as well as my first electronica concert. It was totally a treat in more ways than one (btw, I never knew a synthesizer live sounded THAT cool
). I’m so glad you came to my hometown–I can’t wait to see you again!

Thank you for a well-paced and enjoyable show. I’ve been a Bjork fan forever, but this was my first live show and it was a great one. Rock on for the rest of the tour!

Absolutely delicious show. The horn section was splendid! The band was hot. Fantastic drums and keyboards. Bjork was as expected: captivating, sensuous, powerful, and overall, simply amazing. From her Sugarcube days to her podcasts - she is always quite inspiring and entertaining! A luxury in my life!
One question regarding the show: what was the device that appeared to be an electronic zen garden? Quite fun!
Thanks everyone!!!

This was my first Bjork concert, and it was a life dream of mine to see her perform, so I am very grateful that it was such an amazing performance (I knew it would be)….. I will never forget it. I can still hardly believe it even happened. I wonder if she realizes what an impact she has on people’s lives..? Thanks so much for a mindblowing show. I can’t believe she is going to come to by home town too!!! I flew to Colorado from Texas to see her, thinking it might be my only chance… But that’s okay, I’d love to see her twice!!

“The13th:” the ‘electronic zen garden’ fascinated me as well. Its called a Reac Table, and its basically a synth thats played by placing modules on it and manipulating them to change tempo, pitch , etc. Go to Youtube and type ‘Reac Table’ to see
some very cool demos.

Thank you so much. It was a life dream of mine to see her perform, and I am so lucky that it was such a mindblowing show. I wonder if she realizes what an impact she has on people’s lives…? I can still hardly believe it happened! It was so surreal.
