<description>Gold leggings, must get me a pair! I was thinking about the Lydian front post (but I couldn't reply to that thread for some reason). I was wondering if you (anyone) think there are absolutes in the meanings of musical sounds. There are writings about certain notes evoking the same emotions in people cross-culturally but I wonder if the absolutes go beyond our own interpretations of them. A good essay on music and emotions:

http://frederic-rossille.net/emotionetmusique.html

"For Serguei Belimov, emotion acts as an amplifier of resonance between universal constants and those immanent in music. By comparing Asian and European cultures, he demonstrates the relativity of emotional expression. He insists on the importance of timbre, rather than pitch, in traditional music from diverse cultures suggesting the existence of semantically universal sounds, capable of producing identical emotions in different cultures. In all religions, the timbre of the high notes plays an important role, favouring the contact with God and the Universe, i.e. the sounds of gongs in Asian ceremonies, the vocal style of the Islamic muezzin and the voices of the castrati in European sacred music. According to him, this use of the values of timbre represents a condition for the universalization of emotion in European music. In addition, S Belimov has developed specific techniques to widen the range of timbre produced by the piano, thus creating the Cordepiano."</description>

		<description>Björk is so cute !

It really seems like she had a good time at this show. I guess it is rather exciting to be back on stage after being away for a smidge of awhile.

One rarely gets to see the artist from this vantage point . You should post all of your pictures like the ones at rehearsals and candid shots that you might have of being on the tour bus etc.

Which has been your favourite gig so far ? What has been your favourite moment ?
