I forgot to mention that it was Brynja Guðmundsdóttir’s birthday on August 23. Brynja is a member of Wonder Brass, she plays the tuba. This time the entire audience sang for her, encouraged by Björk. Imagine ten thousand people singing “happy birthday”. It was unbelievable!

You forget to mention Jonas, that we celebrated her birthday in French ! Bjork spoke in a very good way, “Il y a quelqu’un qui a … euh non … un anniversaire … C’est ELLE !” and it was Brynja.
The show was wonderful, I went from Cannes to Nîmes by bus. MIA as the opening act was so great, her albums “Arular” and “Kala” are very good and dancy. I’m not a so huge R’n'B nor a Hip Hop fan but this rapperess is so good. To see her on “Declare Independence” was so surprising. There was a nice ambiance in the arenas, Bjork was having fun as well as all the musicians ; you can see she loves singing live.
I hope there will be other dates in France, maybe in Nice ?
Maybe it’s a stupid question, but how do you transport all the stage, instruments, flags, lights from a country to another, from a continent to another ? I always wondered about that
Cheers,
Romain

Like for the Rolling Stones ? When I saw them in Nice, France in 2006, the car park of the stadium they were playing was full of trucks … How many buses are necessary for the Volta tour ?
