The fourth leg of the tour has started. We are now in… Rio de Janeiro! It is amazing! Even though it is raining heavily, it was still a revelation to drive from the airport to the hotel this morning.
It was a very long journey from Iceland. I had to wake up at four AM to take the plane to London at 7.40. I had a few hours’ nap in my hotel at Heathrow, then took the plane to Rio in the evening. I was in a plane with the brass and Mark Bell, the flight took 12 and a half hours. We then had to change flights in Sao Paulo, spending an extra hour in a plane to Rio.
I hope the weather will get better soon. But I’m not complaining! I still have a gorgeous view over the beach from my hotel window. Rio seems great no matter how the weather is.

Welcome to South America! I’m sure you’ll have a great time in Brazil. I’m looking forward to see you all in Bogotá, I’m travelling all the way from Venezuela just to see you guys.
About the weather, it sucks it is raining down there in Rio. I found this page ( http://www.pronostico-web.com.ar/es/weather_xml.php?id=BRXX0201&length=5&reload=1&reload=1 ) where says it’ll continue raining the whole week. I don’t know if they are to be trusted, anyway, let’s hope it doesn’t rain the 26th.

I could not go to the concert. To go to a Björk concert was a dream, is a dream, since 1998, when I first listened to Björk (through Homogenic). To be short, my heart was broken the next 2 following months after she came to Brazil. But I just could not spend R$200,00 + airplane + hotel. I feeel trully sad when I realize that culture is not for everyone. You don’t grasp it, you don’t hear it, you don’t feel it, unless you pay for it.
I cried for several days (hey man, I’m 23 and don’t cry just for anything!), felt really sad and just stopped listening to Björk after I realized that I would not be able to go to her gig.
Today is the first day that I can reopen my heart and say something about the past months. For many, it was just a gig.For me, it was a concert of the one singer who truly changed my life, my way of thinking and my musicality. She opened my heart, my mind and my ears. Now I can feel music, see it, smell it! I can undestand all the layers! Because of her. And then she comes to a city that’s reallly close to here (Belo Horizonte is about 600Km far from São Paulo and about 400Km far from Rio).
Culture made me happy but it also broke my heart.
Hope you guys don’t think I am just a silly guy. I am not. The trauma is fading away but the memories will stay with me until I manage to go to a Björk concert.
