On behalf of the Wonderbrass, here is a little blog bit. We are terribly sorry about the lack of blogging, there is just a lot on our minds…
Everyone is now in a place they call home, for about 2 weeks, until the show in Mexico. Us girls had the most tiring trip home, possibly from the beginning of this whole tour. We had to take 3 planes in about 2 days, with a lot of prodding into our bags, bodies and whatnot. Not very surprising, coming from Colombia I guess.
S-America was amazing, we really enjoyed our quick sampling of it because of course we weren’t able to see much of each country, but we got the feel of them and know what we want to see more of later…
The last show in Colombia was one of the more strange, because we were so high above the sea (2700 meters I think) it started to affect some of us, f.e. Brynja got altitude sickness had to have oxygen by her side through all of the concert just to be able to actually stand up, let alone play. And half of us were dizzy afterwards and had to get some too.
And today is trumpet-Björk’s birthday, which will be celebrated in jet-lagginess and dirty clothes! Happy birthday Björk!

You guys were amazing altitude or not! As the Birthday songtress herself says being by the sea you get use to tons of oxygen so being high up can be rough. Any way thank you all for the amazing concerts and music and for taking time to blog, everyone knows your busy enough. Any way give all the fans and I best birthday wishes and much love and joy through out the whole year to the sublime Björk!

Dear Wonderbrass,
“Velkomin til Perú, kaera Björk… við elskum þig!”
This was the welcome phrase I asked for to the Icelandic embassies en Canada, US & UK, so as to give all of you a little detail at Lima Int’l Airport…
It was an astounding pleasure having known your art and experienced such a magnificent performance, along with our beloved diva, in our city for the first time… But for what I feel completely proud of is when Björk said: “Muchas gracias… we’re very happy to be in Peru”, those words will live forever in my heart… and I hope that it means that all of you will come back soon, very soon… to visit not only Lima, but also our entire country which, I bet you, will delight you…
And now, I’d also like to wish Björk the MOST AMAZING BIRTHDAY EVER… and I hope you can help me do this… After your awesome show in Lima, I must say that one of my most precious dreams has finally become true…
Lots of warm hugs from Lima…
Ethereal and eternal thanx,
Cocteaulab
P.S.: Although I couldn’t get any photos from the gig, I invite you to visit my YouTube channel, where you’ll find some video sequences I recorded from your amazing show and Chris Cordano’s, the day before: http://www.youtube.com/cocteaulab Finally, I have to highlight that all the home videos I make from international gigs in Lima are strictly for broadcasting in Internet and NOT for commercializing, whatsoever.

It must have been hard! But performing and doing “sport” (i can imagine that playing brass intruments is kinda sportive) with a lack of oxygen obliged your bodies to create plenty of new red cells in your blood. So your blood will carry plenty of oxygen into your body when you get to the sea level, and you will recover quickly from the jetlag!

it is very curious to read you were feeling altitude sick, i was too since i live at sea level as well, but i squeezed the energy out myself in order to keep dancing and jumping hehe and you girls seemed very very energized too. It was an amazing show, we could see you all had a good time too

I was so pleased to be able to see all of you perform again in Las Vegas - I went and also saw in Denver. My how all of you have been working to evolve the show. I discovered “reactable” and then was so happy to see it being put to so much good use in the show.. Then when I saw the performance last Saturday in Vegas, I was so shocked and thrilled to see a TENORI-ON being used for “Who is It” BRAVO BRAVO!!!! I would love to have one of those to play around with one of those one day.. Is there any other songs being performed with the TENORI-ON? Can you tell us a little more about how it’s been put to use? thank you.
Either way, thank you ALL for the beautiful performances!
It inspires me in many ways, and I will now keep working hard to make my own music.
I hope you all continue to enjoy your tour more and more, just as all of us watching are.
