We have just returned from the stage in Gold Coast, Australia. This time the concert was excellent. We had a very enthusiastic audience and I loved playing in front of it. The same can be said of my band mates, and Björk was absolutely brilliant.

Right now I’m sitting in the dressing room. Chris Corsano is in front of me, doing something on his laptop. The rest of the gang, with the very charming members of Arcade Fire, is dancing in the dining hall. Occasionally I hear Damian scream: “MARK BELL!” Yes, Mark is DJ-ing. As usual the music IS TOO LOUD! Unfortunately I forgot my specially designed earplugs in Iceland. So I have fled - with Chris - into the dressing room, with the doors firmly closed. I guess we have too sensitive ears for this RACKET!

It must be said, though, that Mark is a very inventive DJ. He isn’t just playing some songs, but mixing them together in often a surprising manner. Not everyone has the technical know-how, let alone the imagination, to do that well.

Anyway, it is great being in Australia. But it is very hot, much hotter than in New Zealand. I look forward to get into the huge bathtub in my hotel room…

It’s so funny. Here it’s still january 19, and your post comes from the future. I woke up and drank my coffee while you were performing and dancing on the other side of the earth, the next day.

Now it must be 3 o’clock in the morning. If the party is really good, i guess you are still dancing.

Glad to know you had great time performing. And thank you very much for posting, even very tired!

You should’ve confiscated extra earplugs from Sirkus. :)

My aunt is 75 years old and is visiting a friend of hers in Australia right now. She and her friend’s nephew intend to come and see you on the 23rd. I turned her onto Björk’s music and she enjoyed it. Needless to say this woman is extremely independent and hip. She loves to party too so if you see someone with white hair creating a stir in the middle of the orchestra, suffice it to say it is probably my aunt!

Have fun! Get some floating candles for your bath….they are the bomb!
