Excellent concert in Osaka tonight. We performed Undo from Vespertine. Don’t remember having done that live before, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t do it. I just don’t remember it.

I think the harpsichord gave it a magical aura. The brass was also powerful, as was the rest of the gang.

The capacity of the house was 16000 I believe. As far as I could see it was full.

This concludes our Japanese tour. Tomorrow: China!!!

My grandfather was Chinese, he spent his last years in Shanghai. Can’t wait to see where he lived!

Undo? No, i think you never played it live!!! So lucky are the Japanese people!

This tour is so exciting, musically! I can’t wait for the “Live Volta Album”! But what would be the best thing, is to put all the 40 songs of your repertoire on albums! Each song became brand new with the brass and the new arrangements. Sometimes those songs got a lot better than its original shape! It would be a shame not to share all of this with everyone, don’t you think?

Well, i know you have nothing do to with Björk’s business…

That must be so exciting for you to get to Shangaï! Have you never been there before?

    Have a good time!

Undo! Gorgeous…one of my favourites when Bjork improvises towards the end and lets her voice meander passionately and mysteriously…..would love to hear it with harpsicord. That is a song I wish would go on for about hour. To echo..will it be your first time in China as well as Shanghai?

When did your family come to Iceland, Jonas ? And why Iceland ? Just curious …

Do you feel more Chinese or Icelandic ? Or both as I am french/italian.

    Cheers,
    Romain

I believe Shanghai has changed quite a bit since your grandfather was there… I spent a little over a month there last fall and it is quite worrisome to see at what speed they are destroying the old quarters to build brand new skyscrapers…

If you manage to find the time, I recommend you try to make some time to visit the narrow old alleyways that still zigzag in some areas of Shanghai. For a snapshot from there, a little picture I took while wandering around those alleys: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo690329.htm

    Enjoy China!

I just hope the authorities don’t stop Björk from singing Declare Independence… !

Hey Jónas! I’ll see you at the Melt! Festival in germany soon. =)
    There will be 12000 people.
This is my first concert ever (I’m 13 years old)!!!
Perhaps you think now I’m crazy, but you could play “There’s more to live than this” from Debut.
That would sound amazing with your keyboard!
    Greetings from germany!

sometimes when i am cooking and slice a vegetable irregular or through away the letter in stead of the enveloppe or make a to tight curve on me bike i think in a split second ‘undo’ as working behind the computer. undo button; such a luxery. after the phantom undo i start humming vespertine’s undo…. ni hoa ma!

Undo is my favorite song for soothing.. I’m so envious! I hope a recording of the Volta version surfaces. The version done in Boston on the 2001 tour for Vespertine is my absolute favorite performance of this song, but I’m sure it’s amazing with you on harpsichord.

    =)
Enjoy China, everyone I know who has gone there has had an amazing time. I highly reccomend getting some natural pearls while youre there, the black ones are amazing. Ohh, and the jasmine balls of tea are the best tea I’ve ever had!! They make great gifts, and they are worth more than $5.00 a piece here.

    Cheers, Jonas

UNDO is one one of my favorites.
because i work so much on the computer, i am always thinking “undo, undo”
“Undo” is a blessing. when you use it so often, it becomes a prayer.
i often forget that you cant fix real-life problems with “undo” or “delete”.

(i did a comic about it once)

Iffer, I have that recording from Boston! Matmos had technical difficulties that night, so She spoke a lot. I thought the Volta live sessions cd was due out at the end of last year, but was recorded in a studio?

Undo is a beautiful track and a harpiscord and brass just seem to add to that. Have a great time in China and eat a lot of yummy food, Chinese is my favorite type of cuisine.

  13. euphoria says:

i wish and pray for you to play undo at the uk-tour. and oh, ITS IN OUR HANDS! if that comes true, i think i’ll have another björktattoo as a tribute
