Its cool you got to see a very personal and meaningful part of your history in China Jónas. I'm surprised that you were bored by the Chinese opera, Björk worked with Japanese Nho theather for DR9 and I consider that a more difficult form of opera to listen to. Glad the concerts are going well, thanks as always for your updates!

I'm glad you will be performing Declare Independence in China. And I wish you were performing in more venues there. I think all of China needs to hear that song. Especially with all the censorship of the internet, you can't even search for words like freedom or independence or democracy or revolution without getting hit with a firewall. Frontline did a great investigation into this on PBS about Tiananmen square, it's called Tank Man, if I remember right. Remember the guy who braved the tanks? And no one knows his name, and no one ever will. And then all the riots in Tiananmen square. Well it was pretty interesting to have them interview 20 year olds straight out of college in China, calling themselves well-educated, and yet when shown a picture of this tank man guy, they were clueless, they thought maybe it was some parade or joke. They'd never even heard of it because it's been virtually wiped from every history book and you can't search for that either on the internet in China. And Google and Yahoo cooperate. Pretty scary.

Good to hear you were looking after your roots.
I remember my uncle kissing the ground when we arrived in Sicily, back in Oct. 2002.

This and your return to Iceland before the UK Tour makes me think that there is no place like home !
