The Hammersmith Apollo is the shabbiest concert venue I have ever been to. And the food I had backstage… bangers and mash? What IS that?

But we had a hell of a show!

Today I have mainly been walking around London. Met some friends and, in general, had a very nice time. I guess the same goes for the rest of us.

    Bangers and Mash is great!
Although only when done right, so it might not be so great after all…

I do hope you took some pictures of the (shabby) venue, which you are gonna share with us later.

Would she like to wear the same Swandress as during Vespertine tour? Yea I Bought the one she put up for charity auction last year. :D and the dress is just 1km from the gig area in my flat.

I didn’t think that The Hammersmith Apollo was shabby I just know many a great Björk gigs went down there, I could also never figure out what bangers and mash is I just know its a great Radiohead song. Any way I’m glad the show rock many a socks off and you and the whole crew had a nice time.

Jonas - in Manchester what was on what looked like a framed picture / sheet that was sat on top of your harpsichord - it looked something that was going to be shown or read out…but nothing happened with it ? Fab show by the way everyone seemed really up for it and full of beans - that really came across….felt like a really special performance. :)

    First blog comment!

I wouldn’t have thought the Hammersmith Apollo was shabby either; it’s supposed to be one of England’s “greatest” music venues. I chuckled when I saw your review!

Bangers and mash is an English “delicacy”. It’s basically pork sausages with mashed potato, and usually a liberal amount of gravy.

I had to look for the word “Shabby” at the dictionary, we have come from Spain for the concerts. I really am looking for> Where is the line!! We really hope (Being indoors and all) she will include it in the setlist together also with “Cover me” as we can t expect songs like “Enjoy” really. Let s make from this 2 gig’s an unfergetabel night!
Jonas! Stay away from the food backstage we want you to the fullest and not with belly pain. lol (Same goes for the Brass, Mark Bell, Damian T., Chris Corsano, etc. :)

it was shabby indeed but you forgot that when the show started :) the energy was TOP NOTCH
and compared to the opener in Rvk a year ago everything has evolved superbly - it was a brand
new show! just when i thought i was too tired to even stand up anymore, a new song would
breathe new energy into the crowd and we all came into our second, third, nineteenth wind!

the heat and bouncers kept reminding you, tho. seriously, those bouncers and their nonstop
flashlighting and blocking the view just completely disrupted the mood for everyone,
including the ones who didn’t have cameras. one guy wrote in the gigography that he
didn’t realize that buying a ticket included constantly getting the bouncer’s crotch shoved
in his face… yikes! i do hope that this was an exclusive “treat” for this venue alone.

despite all, i wish i could have stayed to see the sunday gig, it seemed like the best of the three.
if you do come back to Iceland to round it up, i hope you play Triumph there too!
