Somebody told me that when the wife of a french minister, who came with him on a public visit to England, was interviewed there, the reporter asked her: “What is the most important thing in your life. She answered: “Happiness.” She didn’t speak English very well, so she pronounced it “A Penis.”
It was a scandal, of course.
Compared to this, occasional glitches in our performance in Paris tonight were of minor consequence. The energy from the audience was tremendous. I think it will become a great film.
Somewhat surprisingly, a lot of people in the audience waved the Tibetan flag when we performed Declare Your Independance.
Obviously, many still keep the faith!
Our brief visit to Paris has been fun. I love this city. But it is very hot compared to Iceland, so my excursion into the Latin quarter yesterday was cut short. Right now I’m sitting in the green room, some of the brass girls are asking for Vodka. There will be a party shortly.
And tomorrow: Iceland again!

thanks so much ! i had a lot of fun and felt so much energy from all of you. i saw the concert at rock en seine but you have reached a much better stage on most of the songs now ! VbyV was so great, and Where is the line also. I always feel happy to hear you littel duet on Vokuro
just one kind request : do something for the sound … the basses were so saturated it killed some moments. otherwise, i loved the little incidents that made the concert more ‘alive’ or ‘human’, if it’s possible.
again : thank you. it was great.

ah jonas, just to let you know about this tibetan flag … all those flags have been given by one guy while we were waiting in the queue. he talked to people about the concert in shangai and about all this ‘affair’. he said that he wanted the people to raise that flag during Declare Independence to support Bjork …
i hate feeling manipulated so i did not play the game.
the way that guy acted, and the impact only one guy could have on so many people really make me angry. you don’t hijack someone else concert just to support your own ideas (even if i DO support the freedom of the tibetan people).

I hope you had a nice travel back to Iceland.
Thank you all for this show! The setlist is PERFECT! I’m so impatient to watch it on DVD!
And thanks Björk for making this concert into a film. And thanks for wearing the Rainbow dress. Maybe you red my request… But i believe that this dress being the most Volta one, it’s obvious that you would wear it for a filmed concert! I would have loved to see you dance on “Hope” into it!

Thans for this wondeful night. Such power and emotion. This was my first Bjork concert, and it really reminded me why she inspires me so much and why I’m working so hard to making a living of music.
I hope I will one day be able to express myself the way she does or collaborate with someone the way you and all the musicians do.
Enjoy the last part of the tour !

I can’t believe what you say, and you also proved how one person can change the reality on a forum !
this guy who came to see us, explained us it was the tibetan flag, and we could just like Bjork do a political act…
he never forced anyone, he even say if you take one and don’t want to use it don’t throw it in the street use the trash…
if you don’t care about people being tortured and killed in a country that doesn’t respect the human rights…that’s your problem, you can pretend this world is perfect and everyone is happy listening to nice music everywhere…and go to bed with your “I don’t want to know” conscience…fine…
but if you feel a bit concerned, and have the opportunity at your own level to show you don’t agree to some atrocities on this planet especially at an event where you know it can catch attention and that medias might be there…like Bjork did… like we did free of our judgement…
and we are no sheeps…I had the flag, and I was just proud to be able to say…I feel concerned…it’s maybe useless but it’s a little someting…like many petitions online…like many protest…
and I hope she though, ok those people are not just dumb french people just jumping on some loud music, they are also intelligent and can participate in doing something to change this not so nice world…
if you’re more concerned about the color of dess she wore during the show, then I can understand that you don’t get it…
cheers

Thank you so much for this live broadcast. I really wanted to go to Iceland this year too, but couldn’t make it financially. So thank you very much. Jonas, you looked a bit nervous, but I guess I would be too with all those people there! I’m sort of glad I could just watch it on my friends lap top and have a better view than most people there. It would have been too claustraphobic for me, but the whole thing was great. I could feel the energy all the way in Virginia Beach!

Hi Jónas. The Olympia concert was a-ma-zing! Congrats+KTHX for this show. A question though: could Damian tell me to whom belonged this li’l hat he gave me at the end of the set? It sports some sort of an Irish flag—or something—on it, and I didn’t notice it before while being on 1st row
! That’s plain strange, and I’d love to learn a bit more about this gift of him
! Cheers, thanks again for your blog+shows, and may the DVD be released someday… Bye. — Fred
