"I am, like many people, quite upset about how things are in the world now, and while I am a musician, I wanted to maybe be a spokesperson for the people in the street, who are pretty pissed off in general. I am just one of all these voices, and the fact that somebody like me has had enough shows you it is a pretty intense time we live in. Emotionally, I was just really, really hungry for something quite full-bloodied and visceral." ...so says Björk in a new interview that is up at MTV.com, why not head over there? Check it out! To add some more good news, we can confirm that Björk is headlining the Virgin Festival in Toronto, Canada on September 8th. But before heading out on her extensive tour, she'll perform a couple of songs, not with whole band, on April 1st (not joking) at NASA in Reykjavík, at FORMA, a benefit against eating disorders. Others contributing some good tunes to the cause are Mugison, Lay Low, Pétur Ben, KK, Wulfgang, Magga Stína and Esja. If you're in Iceland, drop on by! |
